ArcticNet provided aircraft support funds to our team and collaborators for 2014

Daniel Fortier and Esther Lévesque (UQTR) were awarded ArcticNet funds to support the use of aircraft on the field for the upcoming 2014 season on Bylot Island (NU)

The following students Etienne Godin, Audrey Veillette, Stéphanie Coulombe, Maxime Tremblay and Laurent Gosselin will all be able to pursue their scientific goals in the field with these funds.

Funds obtained from ArcticNet for the continuation of our projects

Daniel Fortier and his team recently obtain research funds from the Network of Centers of Excellence of Canada ArcticNet, which will help to pursue our current projects in 2014

The four main axis of our projects are:

  1. Impacts of thermo-erosion processes on the dynamics of wetland continuous-permafrost terrains
  2. Impacts of groundwater flow on the dynamics of discontinuous-permafrost terrains and the stability of infrastructure
  3. Paleoclimates and paleoenvironments of Bylot Island, Nunavut.
  4. Mass movement and thermo-hydrological dynamics of high-arctic lake watershed
